Your annual report should do more than report statistics. It should demonstrate impact, celebrate the work of your team, and give the people you serve a reason to trust you before the next crisis.
“Behind every statistic is a life touched, a problem solved, and a story worth telling.”— May Soricelli Albrecht
Most agencies never publish a real annual report. A budget summary goes on the website in December, and that's the whole record. Your community never sees the calls you answered, the grants you managed, or the hours your staff and volunteers put in. That silence costs you trust you'll need before the next crisis, levy, or funding vote.
Signal Fire builds the report instead. We turn your incident data, your staff, and a year of quiet work into one document your community reads. No stock templates, no filler nobody opens. Just a report told the way a journalist would tell it, designed the way your organization deserves.
Fire departments, EMS, and law enforcement agencies serving the public around the clock.
Companies that report to shareholders, boards, or the public and need the year documented clearly.
Nonprofits and foundations that answer to donors, boards, and the communities they serve.
Municipal and county agencies accountable to residents, councils, and taxpayers.
The best fit is any public-serving organization that answers to a board, a budget, or a community, and has a real year of work nobody's told yet.
You run a department, not a communications team. Here's how Signal Fire fills that gap.
The document your council reads to decide your budget. We write it, design it, and make sure it gets read, not filed on a shelf.
A plan for what your department says and who approves it, built before you're asked.
Talking points, statements, and spokesperson coaching, ready before the cameras show up.
Programs and materials that close the gap between what you do and what your community knows.
The right message prepared for every room your department walks into, from council to local media.
Every flyer, release, and report designed to look like it came from the same organization.
Every report follows the same five steps: discovery, storytelling, data, design, and delivery. Here's what each one looks like.
“An annual report is a record of service, a measure of impact, and a bridge between an organization and the community it serves.”— May Soricelli Albrecht

The Founder
Signal Fire was founded on the belief that every organization has a story worth telling. May's background combines award-winning journalism, FEMA-trained Public Information Officer experience, emergency services communications, and firsthand service in local government. A five-time Colorado Press Association award recipient and recipient of a Sheriff's Commendation for leadership during the Cameron Peak Fire, she knows how to take complex information and turn it into stories people connect with and remember.
Trust isn't built during a crisis. It's built in the years leading up to one.
Our annual report finally reads like something our community wants to open, not another file nobody clicks.
Signal Fire turned a year of call logs and grant paperwork into a report our city council actually quoted at budget hearings.
